HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME ONEÂ

Widener fell behind early as Immaculata plated a run in the top of the first, but the Pride quickly responded. In the bottom of the second, Katelyn Tong crushed a two-run home run over the fence to put Widener ahead 2-1. After a scoreless third inning from both sides, Widener broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth. The Pride put up three runs thanks to a two-RBI double by Paris Balilonis and a run-scoring single from Alyssa Gomez, extending their lead. Through the top of the fourth, Widener led 5-1.Â

In the top of the sixth, Immaculata managed to bring one run across to trim the deficit slightly, but Widener responded again in the bottom half. Caitlyn Katchur reached base and later came around to score after a combination of walks and timely hitting, helping the Pride tack on an insurance run. Katchur also kept Immaculata in check from the circle, pitching a complete game while allowing only two earned runs. Widener closed out the game without issue, sealing the 6-2 victory.Â

Widener couldn't find a rhythm in the second game as Immaculata jumped out to a quick lead and poured on runs across the first three innings. The Pride managed five hits, including singles from Jocelin Mayorga, Sam McCarthy, Leah Digandomenico, and Elizabeth Carney, but were held scoreless. Caitlyn Katchur added a hit and a stolen base while also making a brief relief appearance in the circle. The game ended in five innings with Widener falling 13-0.Â
