Widener and Swarthmore opened the first game of the doubleheader quietly, with both teams held scoreless through three innings. Amanda Danz started in the circle for the Pride and navigated through early trouble, aided by solid defense including four putouts from center fielder Caitlyn Katchur. The score remained tied 0–0 heading into the bottom of the fourth.Â

Swarthmore broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth, plating three runs and following with two more in the fifth. Widener scratched across its only run in the sixth inning when Elizabeth Carney reached on an error, stole second, and eventually came around to score on a groundout by Sam McCarthy. Swarthmore responded with four more runs in the bottom half of the inning, forcing a pitching change. Danz was relieved by Hallie Wiener, who finished the game. The Pride fell in six innings by a final score of 9–1.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME TWOÂ
-
In Game 2, both teams were again scoreless through three innings, with Widener getting early traffic on the bases but failing to capitalize. Elizabeth Carney led off the game with a single and would go on to collect three hits in as many at-bats. Caitlyn Katchur added a hit and sacrifice bunt, while Sam McCarthy reached on a walk and stole a base. Starting pitcher Bella Smith handled the early frames for Widener, pitching cleanly through the first three innings with support from a sharp infield.Â

Trouble began in the bottom of the fourth, when Swarthmore exploded for four runs on six hits, including a home run. They extended their lead with a six-run fifth inning, which included a triple and a pair of extra-base hits off relief pitching. Widener responded with a rally in the top of the fifth: Alyssa Gomez reached and eventually scored, followed by Carney crossing the plate on a clutch two-run double from Paris Balilonis. The Pride couldn't push any more across as Swarthmore closed the game out in five innings, ending in a 10–2 defeat.Â
