Women’s Swimming Falls to FDU-Florham in Friday Night Travel Meet

MADISON, N.J. – Caileigh Foveaux swims help Widener Women's Swimming keep it close against FDU-Florham. 
 
The 164-97 defeat moves the Pride to 2-4 in the regular season and 2-2 in MAC standings.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
The B-lay took second in the 200-yard medley relay as Caileigh Foveaux, Emily Thompson, Taylor Sholl, and Patsy McDonald touched with a 2:03.50.
 
Tyla Block showed a 12:36.01 in the 1000-yard free, taking third.
 
A quick turnaround for the women came in the next event with Megan Shallow winning the 200-yard free. Shallow touched with a 1:59.46 to win by four seconds.
 
Caroline Anderson took third in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:05.12.
 
Hailey Webster and Bella Fanelli took 2-3 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Webster would just miss first in a 1:12.77 while Fanelli clocked a 1:13.36.
 
2-3-4 for the Pride came in the 200-yard butterfly with Kaitlyn Fahy leading the way in a 2:32.19. Foveaux took third in 2:34.49 while Thompson touched with a 2:36.78.
 
The 50-yard free showed a second from Webster with a 26.67. The freestyle continued in the 100-yard free after with Shallow touching in a 56.24 for second.
 
Fanelli, Thompson, and Sholl took a 2-3-4 in the 200-yard breaststroke. Fanelli's 2:42.90 led while Thompson (2:46.82) and Sholl (2:59.07) followed.
 
Two more third place finishes came in the 500-yard free with Block hitting the wall in a 6:01.46 and Thompson hitting in a 1:07.19.
 
Anderson, Foveaux, Webster, and Shallow took second to wrap up the meet with a 1:47.94 in the 200-yard free relay.

Widener returns to the pool on Friday to Sunday, November 21-23 for the York College Spartan Splash Invitational in York, Pa.
