HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST KEYSTONE
- Keystone got on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the first. A strong defensive second inning for both sides was followed by a Pride score in the top of the third. Myles Calderbank hit a double, and Bukowski brought him home on a groundout RBI. Widener's defense prevented a run in the third, despite two Giants in scoring position. The Pride finished the fourth inning with three straight defensive outs. After four, the score was tied 1-1.
- Bukowski would get a run in the fifth. He hit a triple and proceeded to score on a wild pitch. Keystone got their own score on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fifth. With bases loaded in the sixth, Jack Balcer earned a walk, which scored Bukowski. But, it was not until the eighth inning where the Pride's offense exploded. With one out and bases loaded, Widener saw four straight plays of RBI doubles, including back-to-back two RBI doubles. Bukowski, Jon Aman, Nick Barenz, and Balcer all helped bring runners home. Later, Xavier Ruley would score on a pitching error, and an Alex Savkov RBI triple scored Christian Reed. In all, the Pride scored eight runs in the eighth. The Giants countered with an RBI single in the eighth and a two-RBI double in the ninth, but it was not enough to cut into the Pride's advantage. Widener won 11-5.
