YORK, Pa. – The Widener University women's lacrosse team battled the No. 13 York Spartans to a one-goal game into the second half, but the Pride saw its season come to an end with a 15-4 setback in the MAC Commonwealth semifinals.
 
BY THE NUMBERS

• Caroline Kelley led the offense for Pride with two goals.
• Catherine Scott scored once and had an assist. Kate Ward also found the back of the net.
• Gab Cohen added an assist.
• Maddie Medve posted 15 saves.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Trailing 2-0, Widener got on the board at the 18:55 mark as Kelley netted her first of the contest with the shot clock winding down.
• York posted two more in the opening half before the Pride tallied again with Scott finding the back of the net. Neither team scored the remainder of the frame as Medve came up big with 11 first half saves
• The Blue and Gold pulled within one as Kelley scored less than two minutes into the second half.
• It was as close as Widener would get as York pulled away through the remainder of the game.
