BY THE NUMBERS
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stevenson broke the game open early, scoring seven times in the second.
- Trailing in the sixth, Widener got on the board with a run as Buchman walked, stole second and then swiped third. The throw to third was errant, allowing him to come to the plate.
- The Pride manufactured some runs in the eighth as Liero doubled to lead off the inning followed by a walk to Buchman. The pair executed a double steal before a groundout brought home a run and moved Buchman to third. Ricky Collings came up next and bounced a ball to third that was bobbled, scoring Buchman and putting Collings on first. After a steal of second, Taylor came up and smacked a single back through the middle to plate Collings.
- WU posted two more runs in the ninth as with two out, Buchman walked, Bennett singled, and Collings reached on an error to load the bases. A second error in the frame allowed Buchman to score and a passed ball subsequently brought home Bennet to cement the final tally.
