Fred Dohrmann Field at Dougherty-Gillespie Park

The softball team plays its home games on a beautiful field which opened in 2006 just off Bullens Lane. The facility features dugouts and a scoreboard as well as ample seating area for spectators.

On April 9, 2024, Widener Athletics renamed the Widener Softball Field to the Fred Dohrmann Field at Dougherty-Gillespie Park. Fred Dohrmann retired from coaching in 2022 after 42 years in collegiate athletics and has impacted over 1,000 student-athletes and students.
