Ernie Pitone was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Year after helping the men's outdoor track & field team capture its sixth straight conference crown and 20th overall this past weekend. He won three gold medals in the 1,500-meter run (3:57.47), 5,000-meter run (14:58.74) and 10,000-meter run (31:44.14).

Pitone has also been a huge part of a senior class which won 12 MAC titles in the sports of men's cross country, men's indoor track & field and men's outdoor track & field over the last four years. It is the first time any class in school history has accomplished the feat.
