Alexis Schengrund helped the softball team sweep a doubleheader on the road against Wesley by earning the win in the circle with nine strikeouts to her credit in the opener and also putting up career offensive numbers.
Schengrund went a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate by contributing two doubles, her first career home run, three runs scored and four runs batted in. Furthermore, she stayed in control in the circle by holding opponents to a .217 batting average and registering nine strikeouts in the opener.
The senior, who only had one at-bat during the entire 2016 season, finished the twinbill with a 1.600 slugging percentage, a .600 batting average and a .667 on-base percentage. All three marks were team highs.
