The sophomore secured All-American status with a sixth place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. He became the first member of the Widener men's swimming program to earn All-America status in 30 years. Gaynor bested himself in the finals, cutting five-hundredths of a second off of his preliminary school-record as his finals time of 44.53 moved him up to a sixth-place finish. He tied for tenth place in the 50-yard freestyle.
