Eric Solomon was named Widener's Men's Athlete of the Year
Solomon graduates as one of the top throwers in school history. His highlight came in 2013, when he was crowned as All-America at the NCAA Indoor Championships by finishing eighth in the weight throw at 18.30 meters. This came one week after he won the ECAC title that enabled him to qualify for nationals.
He also competed in the weight throw at the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships, ending in 10th place at 17.94 meters. Solomon was second in the hammer throw at the 2013 MAC Outdoor Championships and competed at the ECAC Championships the following week.
Solomon's performances have gone a long way in helping the men's indoor track & field team win five straight MAC titles and the outdoor squad capture three consecutive MAC crowns as well as four of the last five.
