Kate Dellinger was tabbed Widener's 2012-13 Most Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year.

Dellinger's awards collection has been rapidly growing her senior campaign with no end in sight. This array includes being named WBCA Honorable Mention All-America for the second straight year, Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, first team All-Commonwealth Conference for the third straight season, Philadelphia Inquirer Women's Basketball Performer of the Year a second straight season, second team Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America for the second consecutive year, a finalist for the Jostens Trophy as the national's premier player, first team ECAC All-South Region, first team D3Hoops.com All-Mid Atlantic Region and winner of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

One of the school's hardest working and most competitive athletes, Dellinger was eighth in the conference with 11.8 points per game, fourth with 9.2 rebounds per contest, seventh with 2.0 steals per game and fourth with 32.7 minutes per contest. She was named to two all-tournament teams and led the squad with 12 double-doubles for Widener (24-6, 16-2 CC), which advanced to the “Elite Eight” of the NCAA Tournament, shared the conference regular-season title and ended the year ranked 12th in the country.

In one of the most impressive careers in school history, Dellinger ends her run sixth in school history with 1,255 points and fourth with 759 rebounds. In 2012, she also was tabbed Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year, second ECAC All-South Region and second team D3Hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region. In 2011, she was picked second team Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District and to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team.
