Cedrick Clayton from the football team was named Widener's Male Outstanding Athlete of the Year.
Clayton did it all as one of the Middle Atlantic Conference’s elite wide receivers. He graduates with 156 receptions, 2,003 receiving yards, 17 touchdown catches and 2,355 all-purpose yards. He was named first team All-MAC each of the last two years and first team All-ECAC South Region in 2011.
Clayton this past season was first in the MAC and 46th in the country with 6.18 receptions per game, third in the league as well as 36th in the nation with 90.0 receiving yards per contest and tied for fourth in the conference with 11 touchdowns. This helped Widener upend Waynesburg in the ECAC South Atlantic Bowl, become the fourth present Division III school to notch 650 victories and lead the nation in points per game.
