WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Nov. 4, 2015) – The Widener men's soccer team was unable to capitalize on the late chances as they fell to No. 18 and top-seeded Lycoming, 2-0, in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth semifinal game.
Lycoming played the majority of the second half a man up, as
Zac Furia (Morton, Pa.) received a red card in the 51st minute. The Pride held the Warriors scoreless until the 62nd minute when Sainclair Tueno headed a ball to the back of the net from Abdullahi Abdi.
Junior
David Sousa (Springfield, Pa.) notched eight saves on 21 shots faced. Widener recorded 11 shots in the conference tournament semifinal.
Abdi added an insurance goal for the Warriors in the 82nd minute for his tenth goal of the year. Senior
Eric Taylor (Bensalem, Pa.) and freshman
Mac Schailey (State College, Pa.) each added two shots for the Blue and Gold. Josh Gildea recorded five saves for the Warriors.

The Pride end the 2015 campaign with a 9-10-1 with an appearance to the MAC Commonwealth Tournament for the first time since 2008.
