Men's Lacrosse Falls, 15-12, at Wesley

(box score)

Widener nearly rallied from a huge deficit only to suffer a 15-12 loss to Wesley in Dover, DE.

Wesley (1-5) scored eight goals in the second quarter to open a 10-5 lead.  Dan Skeels and Eric Crumbock each netted a pair in that span and helped the Wolverines grab a 17-3 shots edge in the period.

Widener (1-3), down 14-6 with just under four minutes left in the third quarter, scored six straight goals bridging the final period to close to 14-12 with 11:06 remaining.  Senior Cory Malampy (Ridley, PA), junior Steve Cull (Havertown, PA) and freshman Mike Vandegrift (Jenkintown, PA) all netted a pair in that span.

But that was as close as the visitors would get.  Brad Smith scored for the Wolverines with 4:13 to play for the final.

Cull scored three times with junior Andrew Janusz (Easton, PA) tallying a pair for Widener, which ended on the wrong end of a 53-39 shots margin.
