Widener University and Swarthmore College each year do battle in the “320 Challenge,” pitting the schools in a head-to-head matchup of their 19 shared sports.

The 2014-15 academic year marks the sixth time these schools will partake in the challange. The schools, located just three miles apart, will compete in each of the sports with one point awarded to the winner and a 1/2 point given either for a tie or split series.

Twelve of the sports will have the point determined by the winner of their particular game(s). These sports are men’s soccer, women’s soccer, field hockey, volleyball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s swimming, women’s swimming, baseball, softball, men’s lacrosse and women’s lacrosse.

Each of the two cross country points will be awarded based on a designated meet. The four track and field points are decided based on the team’s points in their respective conference championship meet (Widener in the Middle Atlantic Conference and Swarthmore in the Centennial Conference). The men’s golf point will come from the combined team score from one designated tournament.

The “320 Challenge” will see six points awarded in the fall, six in the winter and seven in the spring. The schedule is as follows...
