The Blue & Gold Club’s first three years have been a successful start toward strengthening the relationships of PMC and Widener alumni and our current student-athletes. In year four, we will continue our efforts on growth and relationship building. During the past two years, we have raised over $25,000 for Widener athletics. This has enabled us to upgrade the Borislow Weight Room equipment, and purchase Conference and NCAA Championship banners to honor our past and current teams. These banners are now prominently displayed in the gymnasium and pool areas at the Schwartz Athletic Center.
Our challenge over the next academic year is to increase our membership to over 100 contributing members. To help achieve this goal, the Blue & Gold Club announces a lifetime membership rate available for one year at $250 to all current and prospective members. The lifetime membership permits all participants to receive full Blue & Gold Club benefits for the duration of their membership. Those enrolling in this initiative will receive a Blue & Gold Club displayable placard for the home or office.
The Blue & Gold Club shares a strong commitment to athletics and the role that it plays in the overall educational experience. Through their continued dedication, Blue & Gold Club members help to provide the financial support needed to sustain and enhance the athletic experience of our student-athletes.
Funds secured by the club are allocated to enhance several areas within the athletic program:
* Awards for teams and individual athletes.
* Purchase of athletic equipment that cannot be supported by the traditional budget of the athletic department.
* Improvement and enhancement of the athletic facilities.
* Support and augment team travel options.
Members of the Blue & Gold Club are working together to support the athletic aspirations of our students. They will also be able to enjoy the following benefits of membership:
* Social gatherings at designated athletic events.
* Blue & Gold Club Newsletter and other association correspondence, which helps keep members connected.
* Receive member premium items.
