Academic All-American Conference Champions & Postseason Appearances All-Americans
 

CoSIDA Academic All-Americans

 
Widener has a total of 63 CoSIDA  Academic All-America selections, and 14 student-athletes have earned the award multiple times. Kate L'Armand (cross country and track and field) earned the award five times, including four first-team selections, and closed her career by being named the College Division Spring At-Large program's Academic All-America of the Year. Kristen Lane (cross country and track and field) is second on the list with three selections, including two straight first-team honors. Debbie Smuda (women's track and field), Justin Jones (men's lacrosse), Joe Dawkins (baseball), Brian Klick (cross country and track and field), Robert Ward (cross country and track and field), Jason Delozier (men's soccer), Kate Dellinger (women's basketball), Maggie Karmeris (field hockey), Alie Alkins (softball), Bob Barnett (baseball), and Nick D'Alessandro (baseball) earned two selections each. Widener has been among the national leaders of institutions with Academic All-America selections. During 1998-99, Widener had seven student-athletes named Academic All-America, the second best total in what was then the College Division (NCAA-II, III, NAIA) and fourth regardless of division. The school had five selections in both 1999-2000 and 2000-01. The five in 1999-2000 was the fifth highest total in the College Division and ninth regardless of division. The five in 2000-01 was the fourth best in the College Division and seventh regardless of division. During 2001-02, Widener had six individuals selected to national teams, the fourth highest total in the College Division.

Seven different Widener track and field athletes won national titles: Richie Weaver raced to the title in the 440-meter hurdles in 1970; Mike Williams captured the 1975 triple jump title; Rich Grzeszkowiak won the decathlon in 1980; Tony Brown took the 200-meter dash in 1999; Macharia Yuot won six national championships from 2003-06; Lauren Lucci won the outdoor shot put in 2008; Alex Kristeller won the weight throw in 2022.
